The Society for Quality Healthcare, Kenya ("SQHK", "we", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our website at sqhk.org. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and how we use it.

• Membership applications — full name, email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth, professional details (profession, employer, job title, registration body) or academic details (university, course, year of study, student ID) or institutional details (institution name, type, contact person, number of staff), depending on your membership category.
• Donations — full name, email address and whether you opt in to our newsletter.
• Payment information — payment card or mobile money details are collected and processed entirely by our payment provider, Paystack. We never see, store or have access to your full card number or mobile money PIN.
• Newsletter — email address, if you choose to subscribe when making a donation.

How we use your information

• To process your membership application and manage your membership account.
• To process your donation and send you a receipt by email.
• To send membership renewal reminders before your membership expires.
• To send you our newsletter, if you opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To contact you about SQHK activities, events and programmes relevant to your membership.

Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the website:

• Paystack — processes all payments securely. Your payment details are handled under Paystack's own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance. We receive only a transaction reference, the amount paid and your email address.
• Resend — delivers transactional emails (receipts, renewal reminders). Your email address is shared with Resend solely for this purpose.
• Sanity — our content management system, which stores membership and donation records. Data is hosted on Sanity's infrastructure within their standard security and data-protection terms.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with any other third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

Data retention

• Membership records are retained for as long as your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for our administrative records.
• Donation records are retained for accounting and audit purposes as required by Kenyan law.
• You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us.

Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. We do not track your browsing behaviour across other websites.

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
